Thompson Joins GreenStone as a Financial Services Officer

Johnny Thompson has joined GreenStone Farm Credit Services’ Alma and Lakeview branches, and will work as the newest financial services officer. In this role, he will be focused on country living customers and their lending needs.

Thompson
will assist new and existing members in Gratiot, Mecosta and Montcalm counties with their country home and vacant land financing, which also includes home site purchases and home construction projects, as well as recreational land loans.

Prior to joining GreenStone, Thompson completed Cargill’s internship program as a dairy nutritionist, where he strengthened his ability to solve problems and make decisions independently, demonstrated leadership skills, and developed and maintained customer relationships.

“We are excited to welcome Johnny to our Alma and Lakeview branches,” said Cindy Birchmeier, regional vice president of sales and customer relations. “His previous experience providing superior customer service, enthusiasm for working with others to meet their goals, and ability to quickly learn in a variety of situations will make him a valuable part of the GreenStone team.”

Growing up in St. Johns, Thompson attended Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science. While there, he participated in the student residency program at the university’s beef farm. In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, and being outdoors fishing, hiking, and hunting.
