Bakker Joins GreenStone Grand Rapids Branch as Financial Services Officer

Luke Bakker has transitioned to GreenStone Farm Credit Services’ Grand Rapids, Michigan, branch as a financial services officer. In this role, Bakker will assist agricultural customers in Allegan, Kent, Muskegon, Newaygo and Ottawa counties with financial solutions to meet the needs of their operation with products such as real estate, equipment and operating loans, and lease financing.

“Luke’s knowledge and passion for agriculture will be a valuable asset to our customers and staff in the Grand Rapids office,” said Ian McGonigal, regional vice president of sales and customer relations for GreenStone. “We are happy to have him joining the team in Grand Rapids.”

Bakker’s return to GreenStone’s Grand Rapids branch is a homecoming of sorts. Bakker began his career as a credit analyst at the branch in 2009, before transferring to the organization’s Ionia branch as a financial services officer in 2010.

A Hart, Michigan, native, Bakker has a strong agricultural background having worked on the Michigan State University asparagus research farm as well as several other fruit and vegetable farms in the area. He attended Central Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Bakker was recently married, and currently resides in the Grand Rapids area with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
