Humphrey Named Regional Vice President

Melissa Humphrey has been promoted to regional vice president of sales and customer relations for GreenStone Farm Credit Services.

In this role, Humphrey will serve as the leader of the financial services officers, crop insurance agents and financial services staff in the Charlotte, Grand Rapids, Hart, Hastings, and Ionia offices. She will not only be responsible for the customer service from this group, but also for the guidance and development of this sales team.

Humphrey began her career at GreenStone 10 years ago as a credit trainee. She soon transferred to the position of financial services officer, and later to senior financial services officer at the St. Johns branch. In this role, Humphrey assisted part-time farmers and country living customers with their financing needs, including home and home site purchases, construction projects, as well as recreational land loans.

“Melissa will be an asset to our regional team,” said Ian McGonigal, senior vice president of sales for GreenStone. “She is incredibly passionate about the agriculture industry, and Melissa’s experience and success as a financial services officer has prepared her well to lead the sales team, ensuring a seamless transition and exceptional service for our customers.”

A graduate of Michigan State University (MSU), Humphrey earned a Bachelor of Science in agribusiness management. She is also currently enrolled in the Great Lakes Leadership Academy at MSU and will complete the program in June 2015.

Growing up, Humphrey was actively involved with her local 4-H group and is currently a member of the State Promotion and Education Committee with Michigan Farm Bureau. Originally from Three Oaks in Berrien County, Humphrey grew up on a family dairy and cash crop farm. She currently resides in Fowler with her husband, Josh, a dairy herdsman, and their two sons, Ethan and Drew. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys golfing and spending time at the family cottage.
