Schafer Joins GreenStone’s Ann Arbor Branch Office

Sam Schafer has joined the GreenStone Farm Credit Services team in Ann Arbor as the office’s newest financial services officer.

In his new role, Schafer will assist new and existing customers in Washtenaw and Wayne counties with their country home and vacant land financing needs, which includes home site purchases and home construction projects, as well as recreational land loans.

“We are excited to welcome Sam to our team,” said Jim Nowak, regional vice president of sales and customer relations. “His experience in the lending business and focus on customer service will serve him well in this new role and will be a benefit to all of our members.”

Prior to joining GreenStone, Schafer gained financial services knowledge working as a contract buyer for Credit Acceptance.

A Michigan native, Schafer grew up in Mt. Pleasant and was active on his father’s hobby farm. He attended Alma College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management and accounting.

Schafer currently resides in Canton with his daughter Sophie. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping.
