Snyder Makes Appointment to Michigan Strategic Fund

Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Paul Anderson, of Perry, to the Michigan Strategic Fund board of directors.

The Michigan Strategic Fund was created in 1984 and has broad authority to promote economic development and create jobs.

“I look forward to Paul’s leadership on this board,” Snyder said.

Anderson is the executive vice president and chief credit officer of Greenstone Farm Credit Services with more than 30 years of experience in the farm credit system. He is responsible for all loan underwriting and credit policy development on a $6.9 billion loan portfolio. He also has experience with high-risk loan specialization, internal audits, and a broad spectrum of loans ranging from consumer real estate credit, traditional farm, commercial agriculture and national food company credits for AgriBank, FCB, and Greenstone.

Anderson earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of William Howard Morris.

Anderson will serve a term expiring at the pleasure of the governor and his appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
