Every child is asked the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up”. Until about 20 years old, my answer to that question would have been “a professional ballerina”. I started dancing at age four, trained nationally throughout high school and went on to earn a B.A. in dance from Grand Valley State University.
Training for a career in dance allowed me to acknowledge just how important it is to live a healthy lifestyle. Though I have since ventured down a different career avenue, marketing to be exact, I still find that eating right and staying active helps me deliver my best performance.
Though my primary career has moved from the stage to the office, I’ve continued my involvement with dance by teaching ballet and jazz at Happendance School in Okemos, Michigan. I remain very active in my spare time and have grown to enjoy different types of physical activity, especially tennis! I have also previously instructed group fitness and Zumba.
Over the years, I have invested time and research into how to improve my personal well being, and still continue to do so. With this blog, I hope to discuss topics that I find to be interesting or challenging, and to share helpful tips to feeling your best. Our bodies and minds harbor great potential and taking care of them can provide exciting results!
