FSA Currently Accepting Biomass Crop Assistance Program Applications

Brad Pfaff, the Wisconsin Farm Service Agency (FSA) State Executive Director, announced the FSA will once again be accepting applications for the Biomass Crop Assistance Program (BCAP) Project Areas until April 23, 2012.

"I encourage all those interested in submitting a project proposal in this program to visit the National FSA website at www.fsa.usda.gov/bcap," said Pfaff.

BCAP was authorized in the 2008 Farm Bill and provides payments to eligible farmers and forest landowners for the establishment and production of eligible crops for conversion to bioenergy in selected project areas.

The BCAP Project Areas where eligible crops are grown will be selected from proposals producers or biomass facilities submit to FSA. Information about submitting a proposal can be found on the www.grants.gov website.

For more information about BCAP, visit the USDA FSA website at www.fsa.usda.gov/bcap or contact Kelly Novak at 202.720.4053.
