WHAT: The 14th annual Great Dairy Adventure consumer education day

WHEN: Wednesday, July 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Michigan State University Pavilion for Agriculture & Livestock Education. 4301 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI. Southwest corner of Mt. Hope Road and Farm Lane (Enter through the main entrance on the north side of the building.)

WHO: More than 3,500 people, including children, teenagers, parents, grandparents, families, educators, day care providers and summer campers will attend this event organized by the state’s dairy industry.

HOW: Participants will engage in a number of interactive activities including milking a cow by hand, petting baby calves and cows, completing craft and hands-on activities, becoming a “Got Milk?” milk mustache celebrity, meeting and greeting Michigan State University (MSU) athletes on hand for autographs, learning about dairy product nutrition and how milk gets from the cow to the store, and consuming free dairy product samples.

WHY: The Great Dairy Adventure is an opportunity for children, families and educators to meet local dairy farmers to learn about farming and about the importance of consuming dairy products as part of a complete and balanced diet in a fun, family-friendly environment.
