UW Madison College of Ag Expands Agreement with FSA

Wisconsin Farm Service Agency (FSA) Farm Loan Program (FLP) announced today that it has expanded its Management Training Agreement with the University of Wisconsin Madison College of Agriculture & Life Sciences (CALS) to now include the Farm and Industry Short Course.

UW Madison College of Agriculture & Life Sciences Expands Borrower Training Agreement with Wisconsin FSA


Wisconsin Farm Service Agency (FSA) Farm Loan Program (FLP) announced today that it has expanded its Management Training Agreement with the University of Wisconsin Madison College of Agriculture & Life Sciences (CALS) to now include the Farm and Industry Short Course.

Wisconsin's FSA Executive Director, Brad Pfaff said, "We are pleased that the UW Madison CALS is expanding the training agreement with Wisconsin FSA to include Short Course and look forward to continue working with them to provide borrowers with financial and production management education."

The Short Course program was founded in 1885 and includes the Wisconsin School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers. The following four specialty certificates offered by the Farm and Industry Short Course will meet FSA's Management Training requirements.

Crop and Soil Management Dairy Farm Management Meat Animals Pasture Based Dairy and Livestock The goal of the training program is to improve the borrower's understanding of production and financial management techniques as well as enable borrower s to better analyze and manage their farming operations.

Vendors that participate in the training program must meet minimum regulatory standards in course content and instructor qualifications. Vendors, such as UW Madison CALS, provide invaluable education to create success in current and potential borrowers.
