Other Lenders Soliciting Your Business
Maybe you’ve seen them – perhaps you’ve even received
one or more of them. We’re talking about those bright colored postcards
that invite you to refinance your GreenStone, or PCA, or FLB mortgage with
another lender. They even know how much you borrowed! How does that happen,
and what does it mean?
Well, GreenStone is not the only lender in the world, and it certainly
is not the only lender who actively markets its products to generate new
business!
Sometimes these other lenders find that mass mailings that generate a 1%
to 2% response are a valuable way of marketing their products. How do they
get their information? You might wonder, when you get that solicitation
in the mail, whether GreenStone has sold its customer lists or other information,
and you might be offended by that. Some of these solicitations have been
presented in a way that might suggest that GreenStone is somehow affiliated
with the sender.
GreenStone values our customer relationships, so we want you to have the
facts about these solicitations, and we want you to feel comfortable with
how GreenStone handles your loans and your confidential information. It’s
really fairly simple and straightforward:
- First, GreenStone never, ever, for any reason whatsoever, sells customer
names, addresses, mailing lists or any other customer information to anyone.
We strictly observe federal regulations that protect your rights to confidentiality.
- Second, these companies get the information for their mass mailings
by combing the public records – register of deeds recordings, mostly
– and they use the information to develop their mass mailing lists.
They use information from recorded mortgage documents, including the name
of the lender and the face amount of the mortgage. All financial institutions
are required to record that information when they write mortgage loans;
it’s simply a fact of doing business.
- You can be 100% confident that if you receive a solicitation from another
lender to refinance your GreenStone mortgage, the lender who sent it did
not receive any information from GreenStone about you, your loan, your
mortgage, or anything else.
If you have any questions or concerns about this subject, please feel
free to contact your local branch office. We are
pleased to answer your questions and glad that you choose to do business
with GreenStone.
