Engaging in local activities is one way GreenStone gives back to places where we work and live. Our employees carry out our passion for community engagement through a variety of activities both as GreenStone representatives and as volunteers – we are pleased to tell their stories here. Watch for upcoming stories of how our employees give back in our Open Fields blog!

Supporting communities often times means rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty! For the team at the Adrian branch participating in the Rock the Block community work day gave them a chance to help with local neighborhood revitalization.

“We support a number of groups in the community with donations, but we really enjoy getting out in the community and working alongside our neighbors to help make a difference in the county,” says Stephanie --- Country Living FSO at the Adrian Branch.

Stephanie along with her branch team members: Danielle Hudson, CSR, Steve Eshelman, Tax and Accounting manager, Dennis Makula, senior appraiser, Kay Logan, Legal Operations Coordinator, Heather Gorey, Credit Analyst and Karen Six, Senior Crop Insurance Technician; spent a day in September helping homeowners with fall clean-up and repairs.

Rock the Block is an activity led by Lenawee County Habitat for Humanity. The event combines homeowners and renters with volunteers in high-energy community revitalization events. Under the guidance of Habitat’s construction staff,  volunteers complete exterior home repairs and weatherization and cleanup activities such as porch staining, house/porch painting, gutter cleaning, yard clean-up and landscaping.

“We had a great time working with our own team members as well as others in the community,” Stephanie says. “It is a great feeling to work hard to help lighten the load for someone else”
