Engaging in local activities is one way GreenStone gives back to places where we work and live. Our employees carry out our passion for community engagement through a variety of activities both as GreenStone representatives and as volunteers – we are pleased to tell their stories here. Watch for upcoming stories of how our employees give back in our Open Fields blog!

Today’s farmers are always looking to improve their operations with technology, new and innovative farming methods and techniques. The AgroExpo, located in St. Johns, Michigan, just north of the capital city, offers the opportunity for producers to connect and learn about some of the current trends in the industry. Many industry representatives also attend, sharing experience and information with the attendees. The Expo is a great opportunity for people to network and exchange ideas.

This year’s AgroExpo, was held August 14 and 15. There were an array of educational opportunities at every corner of the property. Presentations included emerging agricultural issues and tractor demonstrations in the neighboring field. These presentations and demonstrations offered a chance for attendees to observe the latest technology at work, while learning new techniques and practices helping them better manage their operations.

“My favorite part of the Expo is interacting with all the attendees,” said financial services officer in GreenStone’s St. John’s branch, Courtney Ross. “It is fun hearing where everyone traveled from to be there, where they work, and all the positive feedback about AgroExpo.”

Over 120 vendors including GreenStone, populated the grounds at AgroExpo, ranging from financial institutions to seed companies.

“As a leader in financing agriculture in Michigan and Wisconsin, it is important for GreenStone team members to be present at events like these,” Courtney added. “Seeing and interacting with our customers and their families always leads to a great day on the job.”
