Elizabeth Waldschmidt: Tax & Accounting Manager, 9 years of service

What is something most people do not know about GreenStone’s tax & accounting department?

Many people think we only prepare tax returns, but we do much more than that. We also provide payroll and bookkeeping services for our customers. In the fall, much of our time is spent on tax planning, helping customers prepare for their tax obligations and making informed decisions before year-end and tax season arrives.

What is your favorite part about your role?

My favorite part of my role is getting to know each customer’s business and understanding their unique goals and challenges. I enjoy working closely with customers to see how our services can best support their success and help their business grow.

How does your role support GreenStone’s mission of supporting agricultural and our rural communities?

I support GreenStone’s mission by leading a team that helps agricultural producers and rural businesses navigate their tax and accounting needs. Through tax planning, accounting services, and financial guidance, we help customers make informed decisions that help them build long-term success.

What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned during your time working at GreenStone?

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned during my time here at GreenStone is every farm and business is different. Just because a strategy works well for one operation, doesn’t mean it will be the right fit for another. Taking the time to understand each customer’s unique situation is essential to providing the best guidance and support.
