GreenStone Names Michael Frodermann, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer

GreenStone Farm Credit Services has named Michael Frodermann executive vice president and chief credit officer where he will serve as the association’s executive credit leader and support the continued fiscal health and growth of the cooperative. Frodermann will succeed Paul Anderson, who will retire in January 2027, after 43 years of service with Farm Credit.
Frodermann joined GreenStone in 2024 as senior vice president of portfolio risk management where he helped chart the credit department’s strategic direction and coordinated operational management to support portfolio risk management for all market segments, including Agribusiness Lending. Frodermann has also served as chair of GreenStone’s Executive, Capital Markets, and Agribusiness Lending Credit Committees. As the executive leader for GreenStone’s credit function, Frodermann will oversee credit administration, underwriting, portfolio management and risk oversight for one of the nation’s largest rural lending cooperatives.
Frodermann’s appointment supports GreenStone’s long-term growth strategy as the organization continues serving more than 29,000 members across Michigan and northeast Wisconsin and managing more than $16 billion in assets.

Anderson will serve as executive vice president and strategic adviser until his retirement, helping ensure a smooth leadership transition and continuity across GreenStone’s credit operations. During his tenure, Anderson helped strengthen GreenStone’s credit organization and risk management framework, supporting the association’s growth and long-term financial strength. During Anderson’s tenure as chief credit officer, he managed the growth in GreenStone’s total assets from $4.8 billion to more than $16 billion today.
“Since joining GreenStone, Mike has provided strategic oversight of portfolio risk management across all business segments, chaired key credit committees and helped advance initiatives that support our business objectives,” said Travis Jones, president and chief executive officer of GreenStone. “Mike brings nearly 30 years of commercial finance and credit leadership experience, along with a deep understanding of the agricultural lending environment and the needs of our members.”
Prior to joining GreenStone, Frodermann served as senior vice president of credit and operations at AgCountry Farm Credit Services/FCS Commercial Finance Group, where he led credit underwriting, approval, operations, portfolio administration and regulatory oversight for a commercial finance organization with more than $10 billion in commitments. His career also includes leadership positions within commercial finance, equipment leasing and credit organizations, including GE Capital. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and management from the University of Minnesota Morris.
“GreenStone has earned a reputation for strong credit administration, portfolio management, financial results, and an unwavering commitment to its members,” Frodermann said. “In this new role, I look forward to building on that legacy by helping position the association for continued growth through helping our members achieve their goals.”
“Mike has already made a significant impact on our association,” Jones said. “His leadership, experience and strategic perspective position GreenStone well for the future. We look forward to his continued success as he joins the executive leadership team and leads our credit department.”
