Inspired by the Gleaners Community Food Bank’s mission of reducing hunger in Michigan, the Livingston County Association of Realtors (LCAR) has helped provide food to local families for almost two decades.
Since 2003, the LCAR has raised over $180,000 and provided 700,690 meals for neighbors in need through their partnership with Gleaners. Each spring, the LCAR joins forces with local businesses to support Gleaners’ fight against hunger by hosting an annual food drive on Saturday, May 4. Food or money donations can be dropped off from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the following locations:
Busch's Fresh Food Market - Brighton, MI
Kroger - Howell, MI
Kroger - Brighton, MI
Kroger - Hartland, MI
Legacy Center - Brighton, MI
VG's Grocery – Howell, MI
Walmart Supercenter – Howell, MI
The LCAR has already raised $9,250 with help from generous businesses, like the GreenStone branch in Howell, MI. The food drive aligns well with GreenStone’s Member Grown Outreach program’s mission to focus on nutrition and hunger. We are proud to support our communities and help those in need through sponsorships of driven organizations like LCAR and Gleaners.
“It’s all about working in the community and partnering together,” says Pam Leach, executive vice president of LCAR. “The drive is a great way for GreenStone to be involved in the community and give back.”
James Cole, vice president of lending for the Howell branch, volunteers at the food drive by transporting donations from drop-off sites to the Gleaners warehouse and enjoys supporting the organization.
“This is GreenStone’s fifth year supporting Gleaners,” James says. “As a community-based lender, it is important for the community to know we support them and understand their need for help in tough times.”
