It’s nearing the end of fair season! For some fair season means elephant ears, fresh squeezed lemonade, and carnival rides. For others it means all the long hours and hard work that they have spent throughout the past year with their projects have finally paid off.

Our GreenStone teams look forward to these opportunities to connect with customers and support youth in a variety of ways!

Our Little Chute team enjoyed both the Outagamie and Brown County fairs. They sponsor the championship of different species to support the winners of competitions. They also support the fair’s rodeo and encourage the kids to work hard and do their best!

Both the Shawano and Waupaca County fairs are supported by our Clintonville branch. Their donation goes towards food and refreshments served before the Friday night auction. They also donate towards the youth committee for showmanship, which is the top five in each division.

On Wednesday night, Farm Credit night as most people call it, during the Door County fair you can find the Sturgeon Bay branch staff volunteering at the Farm Bureau food stand! Throughout the week you can also find staff like Antonia Sorenson, financial services officer, walking around both the Door and Kewaunee fairgrounds encouraging the kids.

“We are proud of the youth for working so hard on their projects. We want to encourage them to continue to be a leader in the agriculture world,” Sorenson says.

Our Coleman branch contributes to the Marinette and Oconto County Fairs. They show their support by sponsoring the grandstand events, along with the different animal species shows.

“I think one of the biggest things these kids are learning is not just about putting pride into their project, but learning how to work together and supporting their 4-H club or their classmates that are there,” Sorenson says. “It is really fun to see the kids be like ‘Okay, my show is at this time, but first I want to run over there and watch my friend who is showing.’”
