In what year was the FFA organization formed? If you guessed 1928 you would be correct! You would also be a great trivia contestant, like Ann Klemp and Corey Fanslau, financial service officers in GreenStone’s Clintonville office.

Both Klemp and Fanslau are also part of the Clintonville FFA Alumni association for close to 16 years now. As a way to bring together his love for trivia and passion for FFA, Fanslau came up with the idea of doing a trivia night for the FFA Alumni after participating in the Wolf River Lutheran High School trivia contest.

After some planning and many years of generating fascinating trivia questions, they have evolved the program! Last year they switched the trivia night to a Friday instead of a Sunday afternoon to see if they would be able to generate a larger crowd - that is exactly what happened!

“We had the most teams ever last year! We added pizza to the menu, gave away snacks and drinks,” Fanslau mentioned.

Trivia night not only helps everyone embrace their competitive spirit and learn random facts, but it also helps raise money for the FFA organization. With the money they raise, they are able to provide scholarships to graduating FFA students and help cover some of the costs of various chapter FFA programs.

“We use part of the money to help fund the students to go to the National Convention and the State Convention, we offer scholarships to graduating seniors, and we also purchase the jackets that they have for official dress.” Klemp explains.

Klemp and Fanslau did not grow up participating in FFA nor currently have kids in the organization, but they both believe in what FFA teaches the younger generation. Whether kids come from an agricultural background or not, the FFA organization welcomes them with open arms and shapes them to become leaders in the community.

On April 5, 2024 the Clintonville FFA Alumni will be hosting their next trivia night! Call Ann Klemp, at 920-810-1794 if you're interested in joining the fun! GreenStone is proud of employees like Klemp and Fanslau who are supporting the next generation of agriculture.
