The 2019 Michigan FFA State Convention kicks off today and GreenStone would like to wish all members participating the best of luck. Thousands of students will gather at Michigan State University this week to celebrate the many accomplishments of FFA members this year.
The experiences FFA provides members by encouraging personal growth as well as the opportunity for young people to explore careers in agriculture is invaluable. The leadership, teamwork and preparation skills FFA members gain help them stand out when pursuing careers down the road. While these skills pair with success in any industry, the agriculture industry offers a wide range of career options and is continuing to grow.
Many people still believe working in the agricultural industry means wearing overalls to work and pulling a plow- a belief today that's far from the truth. From financing, science, or communication, the agricultural industry has a place for almost any chosen major. The following career paths are the most common and in-demand careers in the agriculture industry right now:
- Management and Business
- Science and Engineering
- Food and Biomaterials Production
- Education, Communication and Governmental Services
Many GreenStone employees are FFA Alumni and active supporters of FFA and its role of developing future agriculture leaders. We are proud to sponsor an organization who not only encourages careers in the agriculture, but equips their members with the tools and experiences to succeed.
