As the holidays wrap up and a new semester begins you may have seen some new faces as the winter class of interns have recently started. Up first for introductions: the Human Resources and Marketing Department interns.
Preston Schaar, the human resources intern who comes to GreenStone from Westphalia, Michigan. He is studying business administration at Baker College.
“My internship focuses mainly on the recruiting aspects of human resources and it involves a lot of communication between me, candidates, hiring managers and the lead recruiter. It can sometimes be fast-paced, whereas other times we are waiting for someone to get back to us,” says Preston.
Katie Romzek is one of two marketing interns; she is working in public relations. She is originally from Sandusky, Michigan, and has relocated to East Lansing as an agribusiness management major at Michigan State University.
“I spend most of my time working with the editorial team, but would love to learn all aspects of the marketing department. I am primarily responsible for weekly blog posts, and also help out on the Partners magazine and the year-end report. I look forward to learning about GreenStone from my team,” says Katie when asked about her internship this spring.
Hailey Andres is the second intern in the marketing department; she will work primarily with the design team. She comes to us from New Lothrop, Michigan. Hailey is currently studying graphic design at University of Michigan-Flint with a minor in marketing.
“As a graphic design intern at GreenStone, I will assist in creating internal and external graphic materials for print and digital needs,” says Hailey. “I am most excited about the opportunity to network with fellow interns and colleagues, and to continue to enhance my design skills and knowledge within the area of agriculture.”
Be sure to check back in the coming weeks as we introduce all of GreenStone 2020 interns.
