On March 11, over 25,000 members of GreenStone Farm Credit Services’ cooperative will each receive their share of the $100 million approved as patronage payment by GreenStone’s board of directors.
This record-level of patronage, nearly 50% of GreenStone’s net profits, brings total patronage payments to $500 million over the 15 years of the program.
“We’ve been blessed,” states former GreenStone President & CEO Dave Armstrong. “Paying out $100 million is something we’ve never been able to do before. Our members are the owners of this cooperative, and we are very pleased they are also the recipients of our strong financial performance in a very tangible way – particularly now, after an especially challenging season.”
Members are invited to join in the March 11 Patronage Day celebrations held at our GreenStone branches in Michigan and northeast Wisconsin.
In addition to the patronage payment to members, GreenStone will also be paying appreciation forward through GreenStone’s Member Grown Outreach program, with a total of $20,000 in donations to strengthen partnerships with local organizations and charities. Money will be directed to three groups, Rural Health Initiative, STEPS Community Action, and Kids' Food Basket, based on choices made by members voting online and at their local branch.
