ARC vs. PLC Cheat Sheet
Your formula for choosing Agricultural Risk Coverage at the County Level (ARC-CO) or Price Loss Coverage (PLC) is as personal as the crops you grow, your acreage and expected yields, and the county where you farm.
We’ve created a basic cheat sheet to help you choose between yield protection (ARC-CO) or price protection (PLC), but we recommend contacting your GreenStone crop insurance specialist for an individualized assessment and a recommendation for risk management.
The deadline for enrolling in ARC-CO or PLC for 2019 is March 15, 2020. Producers will make their selections at their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office.
ARC and PLC Extension Meetings
To help farmers better understand each option and determine the best coverage for their farm, Michigan State University Extension and the University of Wisconsin Division of Extension are hosting ARC and PLC meetings. These free meetings, taking place throughout December and January, will cover highlights from the 2018 Farm Bill, updates on today's market, sign-up deadlines and attendees will have the opportunity to talk with FSA staff about questions or concerns they may have.
